Speech Contests

Toastmaster Contests

WA Toastmasters runs four different speech competitions each year

    * International Speech Contest
    * Humorous Speech Contest
    * Evaluation Contest
    * Table Topics (Impromptu Speaking)

There are run-off contests at three different levels

    * Club (usually about 15-25 members)
    * Area (4 Clubs)
    * Division (4 Areas)

Finally the Division winners compete at the District Convention.
Only the International winner goes on to compete at the Region level (5 Districts).
There are nine Semi Finals among the 14 Regions with the winner going forward from each final.
At last there is the International Final where the winner is the year’s World Champion of Public Speaking.

If you are involved in Planning a Contest or Chairing it, you may appreciate help in how to conduct proceedings. The Contest Manual Overview is the place to start. in the middle column you can find detailed scripts to chair each Contest.
